Wolf of Wall Street' lead MTV Movie Awards nods

Hustle" and "Wolf," which each went home from Sunday's Oscars empty handed, will have a shot at redemption at the unbuttoned MTV event that hands out golden, popcorn-shaped trophies in categories like best kiss and best fight scene.

The fan-voted awards will be hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on April 13 and televised on MTV, a unit of Viacom Inc (VIAB.O).

"American Hustle" stars Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, who each picked up nominations in top acting categories while Adams and Christian Bale picked up a nod for best on-screen duo in the film.

Oscar best picture winner "12 Years a Slave" earned four nominations, while outer space thriller "Gravity" scored a single nod for Sandra Bullock as best actress, after winning seven Academy Awards, the most this year.

Jacksons staged many interventions to help Michael

anet Jackson has opened up about her brother Michael's drug problems for the first time, revealing the King of Pop's siblings tried many times to force him into rehab.

The singer admits the family staged numerous interventions in an effort to help the doomed superstar - but he refused to accept he had an issue.

In an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which will air in America on Friday (02Apr10), Jackson says, "We tried it several times and he was very much in denial."

She also reveals she and other family members always feared that Michael's life would end the way it did.

Jackson adds, "I felt that day could possibly come; I think everyone thinks that who has a family member or a friend (in trouble)."

 Oscar winner spotlights rock legend Jimi Hendrix: Louisiana, the man who would win an Academy Award for writing its screenplay was in Dublin to start shooting his movie about the year that changed the life of rock guitar icon Jimi Hendrix.

"Jimi: All Is by My Side" from writer and director John Ridley was shown this week at the South by Southwest film festival in Austin, Texas. The small film drew much greater attention thanks to Ridley's Academy Award.

"There is this added thing now, and people will see it through that prism of the Oscar," Ridley, who won the award for best adapted screenplay for "12 Years a Slave," said in an interview this week.
